Taking Care of Yours Like Ours
Hi, we’re Joe Garcia and Susan Landis —GarLand.
We’ve been married for more than 30 years and have owned five homes together. We’ve spoiled 15 rescue dogs and cats too. So we’ve had to find people to take care of both and appreciate how hard it can be to find someone to trust with things you love. We hope you’ll trust us to watch over your home, your plants, and your pets when you’re not able to — just like we care for our own.
We’re eager to help our neighbors in Carrboro and Chapel Hill.
Let Us Put Your Mind at Ease
Here are ways we can help in Chapel Hill and Carrboro when you can’t be home for a day, a week or a month.
-
We visit your home on the schedule you choose and provide the help you want including doing a walk-through to ensure everything is in order, picking up your mail, watering your indoor plants and landscaping, taking out and bringing in trash and recycling bins, and meeting people who come to do repairs or deliveries.
We text or email after every visit to put your mind at ease.
We charge $25 per visit and $5 at the start of each additional hour.
-
We visit your home and shower your pet(s) with attention and care. That means food, water, and fun. We take dogs for walks on a path you describe. We play with indoor kitties and give purr-inducing strokes. We take pets to vet appointments if you aren’t available. We administer medications as needed (your pet permitting).
We text or email after every visit to put your mind at ease.
We charge $25 for a visit and $5 at the start of each additional hour. We charge $5 for each pet beyond the first two.
We can stay at your home overnight if that amount of care is needed.
Why Pet Parents Can Trust Us
This is our current brood — Raye (of Sunshine), Opal, and Ladybird are the dogs, plus Dobby the cat. We’re lifelong animal lovers who believe every pet deserves comfort, play, and kindness—especially when you can’t be there.
We have had the blessing of sharing our lives with an arthritic dog, a dog with a heart condition, a dog with two knee replacements, a diabetic cat, and a cat who survived a tumor removal (in addition to the typical scrapes and aches and one snake bite). They all thrived. And along the way we got plenty of experience with pills, IVs, and injections, all given with love.
